Peter Dellinger Company K of the 1st NC Infantry Regiment (6 months 1861)

My 3rd great grand uncle Peter Dellinger was born @ 1840 in Lincolnton NC.He is the son of Frederick Lineberger and Mary Polly Dellinger.

Peter was 21 years old when he enlisted for active service in the Confederate Army on 25 April 1861. He mustered into service at Raleigh NC on 14 May 1861. Private Dellinger was assigned to Company K of the1st NC Infantry Regiment (6 months 1861)

Private Peter Dellinger died on 19 October, 1861 from disease,most likely Typhoid fever, at the General Hospital in Yorktown, Virginia. The deceased's effects were listed as 1 Knapsack, a strap, a roll of cloth,his clothing, a blanket and $25.
