Lewis Hambright Company B, 5th South Carolina state troops

Lewis Hambright husband of Martha Patsy Logan (my 4th great grandfather and grandmother.) Lewis along with two of his brothers Gilbreth Hambright and Josiah Martin Hambright (my 4th great grand uncles) Enlisted in Company B, 5th South Carolina state troops also known as the 34th Militia. This unit was organized just three days after major Confederate losses at Gettysburg and Vicksburg for 6 months service. The 5th was ordered to Charleston SC by General Beauregard.

Lewis Hambright was born @ 1820 in York, South Carolina and died Feb 1875. He is buried in Antioch Baptist Church, Cherokee, South Carolina,
