This is the flag of the 16th North Carolina Infantry Regiment.
Private Peter Plemmons resided in Buncombe County, where he enlisted
into F Company of the 16th North Carolina Troops on 7 May 1861. He was
21 years of age. Muster rolls report him as being present and accounted
for until his death at Rockbridge Alum Springs , Virginia on 5 Oct 1861.
Peter Plemmons is my 3rd cousin 4x removed. Deo Vindice, Resurgam!
