My
3rd Great Uncle,Henry Kindree Dellinger was born on 24 November 1844 In
Lincoln County NC. His parents were Frederick Lineberger and Mary Polly
Dellinger.
Henry was a Private in Company E of the 34th Regiment NC Troops CSA. He was captured at Petersburg by the enemy on April 2 1865 and was a POW at Hart's Island in New York harbor. Private Dellinger was released on 14 June 1865. After the war, he worked as a Policeman in Winnsboro SC.
Private Henry Kindree Dellinger passed away on 12 June 1919 and now rests at Lybrand Cemetery in Lexington County, South Carolina
