Dock Nathaniel Harrison was born on 15 December 1840 in Buncombe County North Carolina. Dock was 20 years old when he enlisted as a corporal in Hendersonville, NC on 5- May-1861. He was assigned to Company I of the 16th NC Infantry Regiment and mustered into service on 31- August-1861.Service records show that Dock was in the general hospital #1 at Danville Virginia on 3-January-1862 and was being treated for pneumonia.
On 28 June 1862,Dock Nathaniel Harrison was transported to the Institute hospital at Richmond Virginia for a Gunshot wound that he had received at the Battle of Gaines Mill.Corporal Harrison passed away on 20 August 1862 at 6 o'clock in the morning. He is my 1st cousin 7x removed, Deo Vindice, Resurgam!
