My 4th great granduncle is Manoah Helms. He Enlisted as a Private on 16 September 1863 at the age of 41 in Company D, McRae's Cavalry Battalion North Carolina.Transferred out of McRae's Cavalry Battalion on 15 May 1864 and Transferred into Company I 1st North Carolina Cavalry Regiment also known as the 9th Regiment N. C. State Troops on 15 Jun 1864. Survived the war, Death 24 Sept 1900 in Union county, North Carolina.
