George W. Clodfelter Company K, 46th REGIMENT, N.C. TROOPS

My 4th great grandfather on my mothers side is George W. Clodfelter Resided in Catawba County and enlisted as a private at Camp Vance at age 18, September 25, 1863, Company K, 46th REGIMENT, N.C. TROOPS for the war. Present or accounted for until wounded at Wilderness, Virginia, May 5, 1864. Returned to duty on or about November 11, 1864. Captured at or near Fort Stedman, Virginia; March 25, 1865. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, until released on June 24, 1865. He died at the age of 73 in the State Hospital in Morganton NC on 2 June 1915. He is buried in Murphy NC.
