Joel Henderson Thomas
My 2nd cousin 5x removed Joel Henderson Thomas with his wife Sara Emline Riley and their daughter Minnie Lee Thomas.
Joel enlisted as a Confederate Private on 12 August 1861 into Company E
of the 35th Georgia Infantry Regiment . He Surrendered with the 35th Ga
Inf. on 9 Apr 1865 at Appomattox Court House, VA.
He is descended from the Helms family of North Carolina.
