This afternoon's Revolutionary War post is another relative on my Fathers side. (Camp, Dellinger, Hambright, Flowers,Dean)
The attached image is of the headstone which marks the burial place of my 7th great granduncle Ensign Edmund (Edward) Camp. Edmund was the oldest son of Thomas Camp and Winifred Starling. Before the outbreak of Revolutionary War, he lived in Rutherford County, NC.
At the beginning of the Revolution, Edmund joined the Tryon County, NC Militia. Edmund was later commissioned as an Ensign in the North Carolina Light Horse troops. He fought alongside his brothers at The Battle Of Cowpens and The Battle Of Kings Mountain.
Shortly after the Revolutionary War, Ensign Camp moved near Pendleton, SC where he lived until he migrated to Georgia. Ensign Edmund (Edward) Camp is buried at the Camp Family Cemetery in Eastanollee, Stephens County, Georgia.
