John Henry Hargett, Jr, Hampton's Regiment of Light Dragoons

This morning's American Revolutionary war post is about my 7th Great Grandfather on my mother's side (Hargett,Keziah,Hartis,Helms, Parton)

John Henry Hargett, Jr, was born in 1752. He served as a private during the Revolutionary War in Captain Jacob Barnett's Company, Hampton's Regiment of Light Dragoons, South Carolina Brigade which was Commanded by General Sumter.

The Daughters of the American Revolution list him as Ancestor #: A050607. He is recognized for the private and civil service that he rendered in the War for America's Independence.

John Henry Hargett, Jr, is the son of John Henry Hargett, Sr and Anna Nanna Craig. Private Hargett married Ann Charity Broom after the death of his first wife, my family is descended from this second marriage.

John Henry Hargett, Jr died in 1827 and is buried at the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mint Hill, Mecklenburg County North Carolina
