This mornings American Revolutionary war post is from my paternal side; Camp, Hambright, Dellinger, Plemmons, and Dean.
My 7th great granduncle is Nathaniel Camp who rendered Patriotic service in the Rutherford County Regiment of NC militia. Nathaniel was born in 1745 in Virginia. He is the son of Thomas CAMP III and Winifred Starling and the husband of Winifred Tarpley.
Nathaniel Camp provide material aid to the Patriot cause and fought at the Battle of King's Mountain on 7 October 1780. It is a family tradition that Nathaniel is one of the men who killed the British Major Ferguson. Nathaniel's son is said to had been in possession of Ferguson's whistle which later became part of the collection of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
